Dear Heavenly Father,
Praised are you my Lord and praised is your name forever and ever. Thank you for giving me life today and for waking me on this Sabbath day. In six days you created the heavens above and the Earth below and all that is within them, and on the seventh day you rested. And you declared the seventh day holy (set apart) because on it you rested from all the work which you had done.
Thank you for giving us the Sabbath, for giving us a day that we can set apart and remember all the glory you have spread over the world. A day when we can remember that you are the one in charge and not us. A day that we can make about you rather than about us. May our rest today be accepted in joy and in love and may you reveal your wisdom to us.
Father, thank you for all the friends you have brought into my life, who help me understand your word, and who make commitment to come to our home to hear and discuss your word. Father, I pray that you bless those who you have brought into my life and that you continue to lead your sheep to us as your truth is revealed.
Blessed are you O Lord our God who gives us the Sabbath as a day as a gift to be treasured.
