2 Elul 5776

Dear Heavenly Father,

Praised are you my Lord and may your name be praised in the heavens above and on the earth below for ever and ever.

Thank you for bringing me to this day, for waking me and breathing life into my soul.  Thank you for blessing me with one more day to spend time with those I love and one more chance to be your light to the world.  I pray you grant me the strength and wisdom to walk in your word, and to spread your love.  May you grant me a forgiving heart, and may all evil thoughts flee my being.  May you keep temptation far away from me and let me lie by your still waters.  Please Father, grant me peace and a place in your Kingdom.

Father, I pray for your children who have fallen, and have opened their souls to the sins of this world.  Sins like pride, authority, self-righteousness, love of money, idolatry, and loss of faith have been growing in your beautiful world.  The people have fallen, and have lost site of your face, they have turned to the ways of the world, and now they worship the creation rather than the creator.  Father, it seems to me that the human race you created needs to see you more often to remind us that your glory is the only thing that really matters.  Look at what you did in the desert for the Hebrews, you led them with a pillar of smoke in the daytime, and a pillar of fire in the night.  You were present in their face until they lost their old ways, and fully believed and trusted.  Please show your face again so the people can witness your glory and they may once again bow their knees to you.  Free us my Lord from the sins of this world, and bring us home to your Kingdom.

Blessed are you O Lord our God who leads His people in the wilderness and brings them to the home of His Glory.
