Dear Heavenly Father,
Praised are you my Lord and may your holy name be praised in the heavens above and on the earth below for ever and ever.
Thank you for bringing me to this Sabbath day, for waking me and breathing life into my soul. Thank you for blessing me with one more day to spend with those I love and one more day to be your light in this world. Thank you for granting me the strength and the wisdom to walk in your word and to show your love. Thank you for granting me a spirit of mercy so that I may be forgiving with others just as you have been forgiving with me.
Thank you for showing me all your glory, for calling my heart and selecting me as one of your children. Thank you for the gift of your Torah and all the wisdom that it contains. Thank you for delivering my ancestors from a life of bondage in Egypt and for delivering us to the land you promised, a land flowing with milk and honey. Thank you for leading us through the wilderness, and all we had to do was to keep our eyes on you and follow where you led. Father, isn't that all you ask of us this day?
Thank you for loving us so much that you gave us your son so that all who believe in him are granted eternal life in your Kingdom. Thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit to guide our spirit in your grace, in your glory, in your love, in your mercy and in your peace.
Blessed are you O Lord our God the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob who blesses us with this Sabbath day.
Amen!
