Dear Heavenly Father,
Praised are you my Lord and may your name be praised in the heavens above and on the earth below for ever and ever.
Thank you for bringing me to this day, for waking me and breathing life into my soul. Thank you for blessing me with one more day to spend with those I love and to one more chance to be your light in this world. Father, I pray you grant me the strength and the wisdom to walk in your word. Please grant me a forgiving heart so that I may grant mercy to others as freely as you have granted it to me. Father, please protect me, my family, and my home from the evil in this world; and please do not lead us into temptation, for you are our God and our salvation.
Father, I ask that you bless all those people who are willing to sacrifice their lives so that others may live. Today we honor all those people who have served in our country's military and recognize the sacrifices they, and their families endured so others may be free. Father, may you direct the actions of our leaders and may they use our military only for your righteousness and to bring glory to your name. May you cover our troops with your protection and may you guide them to a merciful victory over the wicked in this world. Father, may your will always been done here on this earth, and may your love always reign supreme.
Blessed are you O Lord our God whose glory goes before His righteous army.
