Dear Heavenly Father,

Praised are you my Lord and may your holy name be praised in the heavens above and on the earth below for ever and ever.

Thank you for bringing me to this day, for waking me and breathing life into my soul.  Thank you for blessing me with one more day to spend with those I love and one more chance to be your light in this world.  Father, please grant me the strength and the wisdom to walk in your word and to show your love.  Please fill my heart with mercy so that I may be forgiving with others just as you have been forgiving with me.  I pray that you never remove your face from before me and that you guide my steps along the path you have set, keeping my feet from moving to the right or the left.  I am so grateful for the life you have blessed me with, even during my darkest times you are the light that leads, just as you led Israel out of bondage, you went before them in a pillar of smoke during the day, and a pillar of fire at night.  Where you went, Israel followed.  Father, may I follow you also, wherever you lead.  However, I pray that I follow you with an open heart, one that has not been hardened.  I pray that I follow you with a contrite and humble heart, one filled with your spirit, one that will help me walk in your love, your light, your mercy, and your wisdom.

Father, you are my God, and I am your servant, who has become your son.  You created me and breathed life into my soul.  You blessed me with a family that is full of peace and love.  You set my feet on their course and you continue to lead me to those places you wish me to go.  My love for you is unsearchable, and my gratitude towards you is boundless.  You continue to save your people.  You continue to show us what humanity and love are all about.  You raise up the wicked, but only for a short time, and you use the wicked to help us understand you better.  My faith lies in you my Lord and your mercy walks with me - I am blessed.

Blessed are you O Lord our God whose glory brings light in the darkness.

Amen!
